I was born in Hamilton and grew up on various farms around the Waikato. After leaving school I went to Medical School at Auckland University and graduated in 1991.
After 18 months as a house surgeon at Waikato Hospital I did my "OE" to England where I spent the next four years working and travelling. I worked mainly in paediatrics and gained a Diploma in Child Health (DCH) in London.
On returning to New Zealand I worked in paediatrics, and then obstetrics and gynaecology, gaining a Diploma in Obstetrics.
I then entered the General Practice training programme and have worked in General Practice since. I joined Green Bay Medical Centre in 2000 and work on Wednesdays.
I have also recently extended my interest in family planning, having worked at Family Planning clinics in the past, and have gained a certificate in Family Planning.
More recently, I have commenced consulting at the University of Auckland Student Health service.

When I am not working, I am looking after my three children - Charlie, Olivia and Daisy.
