Dr Ona Blanks was was born in Tonga and raised on the outer island of Vavau. She speaks Tongan and English fluently. She undertook secondary school in Japan and Wales, before moving to NZ in 2001.
She obtained her medical degree from the University of Auckland in 2007, then spent five years working in NZ hospitals in a wide range of specialties.
Ona's passion has always been to work in general practice with a patient focused model of health care. She became a member of the College of General Practice in 2012 and gained fellowship in2017. She has a wide range of interests with particular focus on women's and children's health, aged care, chronic care management and preventative medicine.
Ona lives locally in Titirangi with my husband who is a physiotherapist working in Titirangi.
During her free time, Ona is a busy mother to two children, a dog, a cat, and hopefully some chickens soon and she enjoys exploring the beautiful scenery this area and country has to offer.
She is available Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
