I am originally from the UK. I came to Medicine later than usual having already done a degree in Psychology and rather a large amount of travelling (having met my Kiwi Husband - who was on his OE !) I trained in Bristol in the UK and spent my first 6 years post qualifying working there. I initially trained as a hospital physician with a specialist interest in Palliative Care.
We moved to New Zealand in 2004 and have settled in Laingholm, which we love. We have four children who also think that living in the bush by the sea is pretty close to paradise! On arrival here I worked at South Auckland Hospice for 4 years, and then decided to retrain as a GP. I gained Fellowship of the Royal College of General Practitioners in November 2011 and became a partner at Green Bay in February 2012.
I work on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, sharing the practice with Dr Deb Mitchell, who works the other days.
