General Information

The Practice Manager is Dianne Gamble, who works Monday to Friday.

Please speak to Dianne if you have non-medical problems or concerns - if she is not available at the time, the receptionist will take a message for her to contact you.

Lead receptionist, Kylie, works four days per week, The other receptionists are: Liz, Donna, Sophia, Nicole, Lisita and Mandy. Please phone Kylie if you have queries regarding accounts (daily, except Thursdays, 8 am to 1 pm).

We have two Medical Administrators Kimberley and Shannon.

Lead Practice Nurse, Effie, works five days per week, with Tracy, Clydell, Kelly and Kylie forming the team.

The relief Practice Nurse is Clare.

Practice Hours

The practice is open from 8.00 am to 5.30 pm on week days (excluding public holidays). The doctors see patients by appointment during the morning and afternoon. There are reduced hours over Christmas, New Year and at other holiday times, and we close early prior to long weekends such as Easter.

After Hours

Our phones are switched over to Homecare Medical each weekday at 5.30 pm (or at scheduled close time). The service is unable to make appointments for you or take prescription requests so, if this is what you require, please wait for our phone to be switched back over at 8.00 am before calling us.

Homecare Medical is available for medical advice on week nights, public holidays and all weekend.

Urgent Care

If your doctor does not have a free appointment to see you for an acute illness or if you,or your child, require urgent attention, please phone the Medical Centre and ask to speak to a Practice Nurse. She will liaise with your doctor regarding your care.

If you have had an accident, or feel very unwell when you come into the Medical Centre, please ask to see a Practice Nurse. She can assess your condition and report this information to your doctor.

Prescriptions

When first joining the Practice you will see your new Doctor for your prescriptions. Following this, between regular six monthly consultations with your doctor, repeat prescriptions may generally be requested by phone from the Practice Nurse. You may also email your request to nurse@gbmc.co.nz.

Please ensure that we have your contact number in case there are any queries while preparing your prescription. Please allow at least 2 days for your script request to be actioned so we suggest you ask for your script 4 to 5 days before you will run out of medication. Your doctor may also require that your blood pressure, pulse, weight or peak flow is checked when you collect your prescription.

Obtaining Laboratory or X-Ray Results

Please be advised patients will only be contacted regarding test results when the result is abnormal.

Should you want a record of your result or have any concerns, you can view your results on your Indici patient portal: https://myindici.co.nz/Account/Login, or email the Practice Nurse for your results: nurse@gbmc.co.nz (please ensure that a return email will remain confidential).

If urgent, please phone the Practice Nurse on 827 4075. A Practice Nurse is on phone duty 9 to 12 am and 2.30 to 4.30 pm, however at busy times, especially on a Monday morning, our phone lines may become overloaded. The phone is often quieter between 11 am and midday or, in the afternoon, from 3 pm to 3.30 pm. If there is not a Practice Nurse free to take your call, the receptionist will record a phone number for you to be phoned back.

New Patients

Although our books are officially closed to new patients, we regularly have room for family members and sometimes for Green Bay residents to join the Practice as patients move out of the area.

Although it is not generally possible to choose your new GP, if there is a family connection please advise us via the 'Special circumstances' section on the application form.

Patients with Mobility Issues

The carpark in front (road-side) of our building is shared by the Medical Centre and Green Bay Dentists. A carpark space has been designated for ‘Mobility permit Parking right in front of the Dental practice entrance.
