Understanding Medicine

Spacers for inhalers

Using a spacer with your inhaler can help more of the medicine reach your  lungs, where it’s needed. It can also make your inhaler easier to use,  especially for tamariki or anyone who finds it hard to breathe in at the same  time as pressing the inhaler. Find out how spacers work, how to use one and  how to keep it clean. Learn more here

A handy inhaler reminder

Using Breztri Aerosphere for COPD? This simple factsheet is easy to print, save or share with whānau. It explains what Breztri is used for, how to use it, when to use a spacer and how to clean your inhaler. It’s a handy reminder to keep on the fridge, in a medicine folder or somewhere easy to find when you need it. Check it out here

Digital Health

A wee bit of support

Bladder leaks are common, but that doesn’t mean you have to just put up with them. For World Continence Week, it’s a good time to talk about pelvic floor health and the support that’s available. The FemFit app offers a pelvic floor training programme designed to help women strengthen their pelvic floor muscles and improve urinary incontinence. Before using the app, check with your healthcare provider to make sure it’s right for you. Learn more about the FemFit app here
